For the past two weeks YouTube videos wont load. All get is a black box.

For the past two weeks I have been noticing most of the YouTube videos, embedded on forums, wont play. I can go directly to YouTube and watch videos with no problem. However, most embedded videos on forums wont load. Here is a screen shot of what I get from most embedded YouTube videos lately. Is there something I can change or adjust to get the embedded videos to load?

That is phun.org I get the same result no matter which forum I visit. As the page loads I get a glimpse of the videos screen shot and play button. Then the box goes black.

That shouldn't be a problem in general, including on that forum, found that screenshot is from this thread.

Besides the suggestion from above link, I noticed the described effect (the glimpse of the video then the blackness) also happens if JavaScript is blocked.

Yeah, like uCyborg said. You have to allow javascript ofc.

and allow all youtube/google in uBO, while almost allowing all google/youtube in eMatrix (so, no NoScript naturally)

In my working profile (with lots of extensions and user scripts), I get:

In an almost clean profile, with only uBO, I get the video playing:

I guess we can safely conclude it's an extension that's causing it in that case. Maybe something manipulating the URL, maybe cookie related, local storage related, or "privacy" related.

I clicked on that link and now I see the thumbnail and the video plays. Which is strange because some videos do load and play. While other posted YouTube videos don't load.

Funny things is that I also have Basilisk browser running the same addons as Pale Moon, except for the dark theme. In Basilisk embedded YouTube videos play with no problem. I'm just hoping someone else who is having the same issue has figured out what adjustment can be done to rectify the issue.
