I guess mentioning different extensions is grounds for a "tidy up" in this topic thread.

Like I said previously, I do not like to keep using non-maintained extensions because sooner or later, eventually they will not work properly, if at all.

As an example.

JustOff had an adblocker extension which I used and that extension was "uBlock Origin". It was very, very popular with the Pale Moon users. But when JO left, his UBO was last updated in the year 2020.

But some users started to say, his UBO was not working properly with newer versions of Pale Moon. I think it had to do with "filter lists". I cannot even remember JO's version number now. I looked for it, but I cannot find it.

JO's UBO was open source, not proprietary, so a power user could look into it. There was one kind person who looked at it and that person modified it (I think) and that person's UBO was version 1.16.6.0 Beta.

I do not use beta software since I am a non-technical person, if it didn't work properly, I had no way to fix it myself. And the Beta version stayed in beta for a long time (in my opinion). So I kept using JO's UBO.

But I kept tabs on this person's UBO and lo and behold, one day it was at 1.16.6.0 and there was no Beta in the version number. That was when I installed it and I am using it today. And this UBO was again updated to version (1.16.6.1).

And who was that kind person who gave Pale Moon users new life back into an excellent adblocker? That person was................."you". And I want to extend a public "thank you" to you.

And credit should always be given and publicly acknowledged which is at the link below.

https://projectfresco.github.io/addons/ ... ock-origin

PS: I also want to give credit to the "original extension author" of uBlock Origin which is Raymond Hill.

I have about 1500, exported from my del.icio.us account going back to 2006. Beats those weirdos having a thousand open tabs, that are just one crash from being lost for good
I don't even have 250 bookmarks I guess that's why I find 1000 or more crazy

I have, as of this posting, 28 folders on my Bookmarks Toolbar. So those "around" 1000 bookmarks, they are mostly in 6 folders. Those 6 folders are: Surf-V (surfing), Music, YT (YouTube), Computers, Linux and Sleep.

As an example. Surfing is my main hobby. And there are many aspects to surfing which I will not go into. I will shorten the next comments below to keep me from posting a very l-o-n-g manuscript.

My "Surf-V" folder contains sub folders and sub, sub folders. All combined, out of around my 1000 bookmarks, 143 of those bookmarks are in the "Surf-V" folder. That is, if my math is correct, 14.3% of my total bookmarks.

Therefore it is easy to accumulate 1000 bookmarks.

It is quite easy to gather hundreds or thousands of bookmarks with ease, if you are patient and keep the right habits. Since early childhood, I have loved studying a wide array of academic topics. If I came across a website which was informative in my browsing, I would save it as a note to myself. When browsing through my bookmarks later, I could glance at a link and think ‘oh, here is where I learnt that the earth has contracted about 5% since forming’ etc, like so many notecards. To this day, such a custom prevails on my hard drive with saved books and articles, even if my bookmarks have since been boiled down to less than a hundredth their original volume.
Life is a fever dream Mæstro would enjoy.

I currently have 101250 saved bookmarks:

A long time ago, I 've made an add-on that (among other features) has the option to easily save (and display in their entirety) notes in Bookmarks using a non-modal "dialog". This allows saving text with a maximum length of 4096 Bytes in each Bookmark (a UTF-8 character may use more than one byte). With this approach, I was able to preserve information even from pages that could no longer be accessed after some time (as they were deactivated). Another bonus is that the info saved in Bookmarks are accessible even when you're offline.

A footnote to the previous post: the 101250 bookmarks do not represent the equivalent of 101250 web pages. Over time, there have been many cases of pages from which I took notes that far exceeded 4096 characters, thus exceeding the maximum limit allowed in "Name" for a single bookmark. I solved this problem by creating several successive bookmarks for the same page. These successive bookmarks have the same "Location" (same URL) but different contents in "Name" (see an illustrative example below). Thus, the number of pages for which I've created bookmarks is much smaller than 101250 (the number of bookmarks).

Illustrative example for the web page "Cele mai bune surse alimentare de antioxidanți, esențiale pentru prevenirea bolilor cronice" ("The best dietary sources of antioxidants, essential for preventing chronic diseases"):

Hi everyone,

Thanks a lot for all the tips and ideas you’ve shared! I really appreciate hearing how each of you manage your data in Pale Moon without overloading the browser. Some of your approaches gave me inspiration to refine my own setup. For anyone curious about a slightly different approach, I’ve been experimenting with tools like {{SPAM link removed}} to keep stats and links tidy in one place. It’s just an example of how organizing information visually can make things easier without adding heavy extensions. Thanks again for the great discussion, really helpful to see so many different methods!

As-suspected by staff, user was trying to get a foot in the door to come back and spam-link in a follow-up post.
Since the discussion resulting from the original post is still useful to retain, the thread wasn't outright nuked, but the user has been booted and the topic was locked.
