An apology

Post by Moonchild » 2025-12-17, 15:39

To my fellow developers and community members — I would like to apologize if I seem irritated or impatient. It's not your fault at all. I'm just very tired... dealing with physical pain... and going through a lot of things at the same time; in addition to the Holidays in general not being the best time for me because of "historical conditioning".

I'm doing my best to work on Pale Moon and UXP despite this, but am probably falling short these months of what is expected of me.

I am immensely grateful to each and every one of you. I'll fill you in with some more details later. Hope everyone has a great festive season ahead!

Just take care of yourself. This has to be your first priority now to basically "get yourself back on your feet" and get back into the swing of things which you enjoy doing.

We are sorry to hear this. If it is any comfort, you have been pleasant in conversation as always; I have not thought you impatient or irritable. Please allow yourself time to rest. Your emotional and physical health are most important to us. If you are worried about UXP, Pale Moon is not a one-man project and should be able to afford you reserving time for your recovery. I will include you in my prayers.

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through.

Right now, the only thing that matters is that you get well. You shouldn't feel pressured by what others might expect of you, because everyone goes through difficult times at some point. We are all human, not robots. You shouldn't worry about the expectations of someone who doesn't share this view.

And I am also grateful to you because thanks to you Pale Moon exists - the Browser that makes my time online much more enjoyable.

I'll give a +1 to all the previous posts. Take care of your mind and body. My grandfather died in 1982 on Christmas Eve. I don't really enjoy Holidays much anyway, and it took me a very long time to get over that. Happy New Year to ya!

Not sure what historical conditioning is (got some results about air conditioning) but pain sucks. Take a well-deserved, extended break!

This thread reminds me of how much more friendly the forum has been the past few years. Friendly and yet the devs have remained highly productive, if not more so.

Interesting contrast to some of the ways some folks responded in the old days.

Things changed with "Tobin's" demise.
MC, you're the hardest working person here, so I don't feel an apology is necessary.
I do know what extreme pain is like, having lost my right hand Aug. 2024.

Don't worry, I haven't noticed this much. Just don't overload yourself. If not for you, we would all be stuck using those ghastly chromium based web browsers. Take it easy and don't do yourself in. Thank you for your service in maintaining the true spirit firefox abandoned.

Knowing what you're dealing with from some previous announcements of yours all we expect of you now is to get well in all aspects. Don't feel guilty, and don't rush recovery. It's ready when it's ready doesn't stand true only for good software like Pale Moon but also for the healing of body and mind. ;)

Best wishes!

Good sir, your apology is accepted with care and endearment from our Palemoon community. The work you and your team put in is insurmountable to us. Words alone do not seem to encompass how much we greatly appreciate your efforts. It is my wish your convalescence is speedy and efficacious toward a full recovery. Gods speed.

True.

I think I was more of a grumpy one in recent times.
