Yellow fields when filling user names and passwords through PassIFox extension
Not a problem, just a (possibly dumb) question, did something in the browser change recently regarding those fields? I'm not sure if I'm misremembering, but I'm almost positive when you filled the fields in the past, their background stayed white, now they turn yellow.
If no one knows what I'm talking about, let me know and I'll post the screenshot.

v33.9.0 Release notes:
Implemented the :autofill CSS pseudo-class. Auto-filled fields will now also be styled by default to indicate autofilling/password manager recall has occurred.

Oh, so that was meant by the styling.

Guess it came as a bit of a surprise and I opened the thread about it too fast.

Re: Yellow fields when filling user names and passwords w/o extensions
So this applies even if one does not the extension mentioned by the OP ?RealityRipple wrote: ↑2025-09-28, 20:02v33.9.0 Release notes:Implemented the :autofill CSS pseudo-class. Auto-filled fields will now also be styled by default to indicate autofilling/password manager recall has occurred.
I also noted some of the sites I frequent now (with 33.9 ?) give me this new unexpected yellow background (some are autofilled, some require a click but I guess that depends on the site ... always been erratic)
BTW my preferences are set to:
- remember passwords for sites
- automatically fill in log-in details
- NO master password

Re: Yellow fields when filling user names and passwords through PassIFox extension
PassIFox internally uses browser's facilities dealing with remembering passwords. It stops working if you turn off's browser's remember passwords checkbox. From user's perspective, it appears mostly the same as if you were storing passwords in the browser, the differences being the actual password source and Saved logins dialog showing only handful of entries from the database, actual passwords are not exposed there, even if you click Show passwords, last modified date is not set, just shows 1.1.1970. Also no idea what kind of logic is in the back that it only shows the handful of specific entries that it does there.
