Off-topic:
When I was 28 years old, my eyesight started to go bad in both my right and left eyes. So bad in fact I was relegated to wearing trifocal glasses at that young age.
When I was 69 years old, I could no longer see things clearly enough to even write a check for payment of goods while wearing trifocal glasses. I had to carry around a small magnifying glass to write checks.
When this started happening, I went to an ophthalmologist to see if he could do anything for me. He told me I was now out of range for trifocals. I would need quadfocal glasses. There was only one problem. No company in the ENTIRE world makes quadfocal glasses. And I also had a cataract in each eye. My world was getting real blurry vision wise.
This is why I view EVERY video on YouTube in the highest definition mode offered for that video.
Then last May when I was 74 years old, I went for my annual eyes exam. My ophthalmologist told me both cataracts had grown large enough to be taken out surgically. So on May 16th of 2024 I had my left eye operated on and then on May 30th, I had my right eye operated on.
Fast forward to today.
I have 20/15 vision in my left eye and 20/20 vision with my right eye "far" distance wise. I chose far distance lenses to see things clearly mainly because when I was surfing with my poor eyesight, I always saw the tell tale shape of an eight foot bull shark at about five yards from my longboard which can be a little scary. With both of my now surgically repaired eyes, I can see the tell tale shape of a bull shark at twenty yards when I am surfing my 9'3" longboard.
When one is surfing, bull sharks where I surf are common because there are many of them around. It is not wise to run over a bull shark and hit the shark with the 10.5" fin on the underside of the tail end of my longboard. The shark will get "pissed" and might retaliate with it's mouth full of very sharp teeth.
With my new eyesight, since I can see the shape of a bull shark at twenty yards from my longboard, I can steer my longboard around the shark and not run over it.
Since I chose far distance lenses for both eyes, I have to wear "reading glasses" (cheaters) that I can get at my local grocery store to write checks and do paperwork. I think the prescription is 1.25 if I am not mistaken. Cost is about $10.00 (US dollars).
In closing.
I can tell from your comments above you don't have very poor vision. Because if you did, you wouldn't make those comments above. As one gets older or has an accident which affects their eyes, their vision starts to see things with a "blurry" view of the world.
One last item, as one gets older, there is a 50/50 chance you will have a cataract in one eye or maybe in both of your eyes. Then you will change your (pardon the pun) "viewpoint" when you want to see things "clearly" and you cannot.
You only see things through your eyes. Ever hear the phrase, "Walk a mile in my shoes?"frostknight wrote: ↑2024-10-17, 11:50Honestly, I don't really know why anyone cares about high definition viewing mode.Night Wing wrote: ↑2024-10-17, 11:22I had never heard of Nadeko before. So I went over to the site to check it out. I was not impressed.
As far as I can tell, Nadeko offers 1080p for it's highest defintion viewing mode. The reason I say this is because I have a lot of surfing videos where I can view them in 2160p 4K high definition on YouTube.
I am happy with 360p.
1080p? Not needed, matter of fact, 360p takes way less space up if you store it on computer. And if runs faster on the web.
So I kind of don't understand your interest in higher definition.
To each his own I guess?![]()
