Empty Homepage behaviour

Empty Homepage behaviour

Hello:

When the homepage is set to empty, and then when a new tab is set to open the homepage, we get what seems to be called the Pale Moon start page --- which is to be differentiated from the start website (https://palemoon.start.me/start).

The standard behaviour for a newly opened PM start page is to have the focus on the search box in the middle of the box.
This is to be contrasted with the behabiour of a new empty page, where the focus is in the address bar.
Is there any way to keep the focus on the address bar of a new PM start page, like in an empty page?

This is entirely by design.
The focus will be on the content if it is a page you are expected to interact with (e.g. Pale Moon start page or any web URL), and on the address bar if it is a page you are not expected to interact with (e.g. about:blank, about:logopage).

Under the "Tabs" tab in preferences, set, "When opening a new tab, show: A blank page." Or am I missing something here?
