Will be out of the running for 2 weeks.

Unread post by Moonchild » 2024-03-11, 15:23

I am going to be out of the running for about 2 weeks, give or take, as I've fallen ill with a serious bacterial infection (so far I can tell at the moment) that has me sick and will (likely) take a hefty antibiotics course to solve. If you must know more, PM me.

Doc's visit has been planned to get professional help.

I hope the infection is not antibiotic resistant and you will as they say, "get back on your feet" as soon as possible.

On a side note, I'm seeing an orthopedic surgeon next Monday, the 18th of this month. I'm hoping I haven't torn my rotator cuff in my left shoulder. I tore my rotator cuff in my right shoulder in 2017 which was surgically repaired. The pain back then in 2017 feels exactly like the pain in my left shoulder now.

I hope you'll be okay. I really don't know what we'd do without you.

Anyway, just focus on getting rest and things will take care of themselves here for a while.

I'm currently on Spring Break, so I will be around a lot this week at least anyway.

Along with the antibiotics, give your body the rest it needs to help mend itself.

I won't really have much choice. I'll be sleeping a lot and feeling unwell and unmotivated while awake, so that automatically means I'll give it what it needs :P

I suffered two infections, both treated with amoxicillin, in 2018; I know how you must be feeling now. I will keep you in prayer. I hope you are calm and cosy despite everything for the fortnight. You do more than enough for us, and need rest.

On topic: Recommend do not take fluoroquinolone antibiotics. They cause "Disabling and potentially permanent side effects" as listed by the EMA European Medicines Agency. In USA the FDA Food and Drug Administration has a similar ban. For example Cipro, Levaquin, and similar.

No worries, this is easily treated with plain old phenoxymethylpenicillin (penicillin for short). Not taking a broader spectrum antibiotic if I don't need it.

As a result of this, I'll make the next release a minor update with just security issues addressed (33.0.2) since Firefox just updated and I'm still medicated and just don't feel up to doing a full dev release.
