Saved passwords gone after restart in safe mode

Unread post by BrulSturm » 2023-07-20, 14:07

Hello,

Long time Pale Moon user, without much issues.
Due to a problem with a website not working, I tried the feature "Restart in Safe mode". After closing Pale Moon and starting Pale Moon again, all saved passwords were gone.
This is reproducable (for me) because I tried it again.

Is this expected behaviour?
Is this a bug?
Is there a way to get passwords back from a full harddisk-backup?

Thanks in advance.

Please update to 32.3.1 - while I don't see a reason for passwords to be completely gone, it is possible that the UI scripting problem in 32.3.0 is preventing proper access to the password store.

Thanks for your fast response!

Just discoverd that I must have accidently checked the feature "Clear history when Pale Moon closes" and since "Saved Passwords" in the submenu is checked by default...
Entirely my mistake, although I dare to discuss the usefullness of this option, because deleting saved passwords after every session makes the purpose of saving passwords in the first place of no use.

Thanks for your time.

Regards, BrulSturm.

Actually, "Saved passwords" is not checked by default. You must have checked it yourself, probably by mistake.

The default settings are to clear all history items but none of the data items.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
