That last official Pale Moon release with support for Windows XP was 26.5.0 (2016-09-28)

Replace your OS with a current one, e.g. Debian that still supports i386 architecture if needed.
XP is EoL and Pale Moon doesn't support it anymore. Using current websites won't be possible with old PM versions.

I'm sure they are well-aware of the EoL status of XP if they just installed it now. Recommending a different O.S. is likely not something intended if they explicitly went for Windows XP.

Legacyfan, if you are reading this, then I would point out that there are unofficial Pale Moon forks for XP you can use. We cannot vouch for their security or compatibility as we could for Pale Moon proper, but Roytam’s fork appears mostly to keep up with Pale Moon releases.
※Being unofficial, these builds may not legally use the Pale Moon icon, name or other trademarked files.
※You are unlikely to get much help here for such builds. Roytam maintains a thread where you can ask him or fellow XP users for support.

This bit is important. If you choose to go ahead with these builds, don't come here for support and contact the author of the build you use. Nobody here uses XP and is in no position to help you run unauthorized third party builds, so best not to waste our time and yours.

EOL? What isn't EOL these days?

I still see 3% of Windows users on XP, slightly more on Windows 8.1 but less on Windows 8 and none on Vista.

They are free to keep using it with the understanding that they are totally on their own and can't expect support from Microsoft, let alone from this community while using an unauthorized Pale Moon build.

Not sure what data you are using but according to statcounter it's more like 0.45%. Scaler concurs with that number having it at 0.51%. Win 8 is a bit higher than that, 8.1 sitting at 2.8% or so, behind Win 7 at almost 10%.
(according to statcounter, adoption of Win 11 is only 18% - likely most new systems that came with it - most people by far are on Win 10, pushing towards 70%)

Off-topic:
I find it rather likely that Windows 10 will remain the most popular OS on the day Microsoft plans to cut support. This will not like XP or 7, where it was still a popular minority, but already a minority. I can only speculate on why; I have heard vague rumours that chips have become more expensive since 2020, meaning that users are less likely to buy new computers that can run 11. Whether Microsoft concedes that it has failed to force everyone onto 11 and begrudgingly extends Windows 10’s support, or hardens its resolve and provokes a malware epidemic fit for twenty years ago, the results will be entertaining.

what ever the amount is its very little compared to other windows version

Microsoft dropped support for Windows 7 which is still very popular and preferred amongst coders. In the middle east clients are reporting problems with some applications because they have many users using a free version of Windows 7 and because updates are no longer available, support for many applications is missing... apparently the first release of Windows (applies to most software) is always missing something or has bugs that is usually fixed in updates released soon after.

Microsoft had continued to support Windows 7 for paying customers until this year’s beginning. I have the vague memory that it might still offer patches for embedded system, as embedded XP had remained in support for years after mainline had fallen away, and these bold Slovenes are offering unofficial patches also. I have also heard that some kernel extension or other wizardry has been able to extend 7 to handle many applications which target later Windows versions.

as long as you are using the latest versions of linux mint (like either 20 or 21) and not older versions like 19.x as v19 went EOL this year
