I installed what is shown on the Pale Moon site (url https://www.palemoon.org/download.shtml) as Pale Moon 29.4.6 x64. When I run what I downloaded and go to "About Pale Moon", it says "Pale Moon Version 30.0.1 (32-bit). Can somebody please explain this?
Thanks!
Pale Moon 29.4.6 x64 self identifies as 30.0.1 x32

I forgot to mention: Windows 7x64 Pro.
Related to this matter (posted separately for clarity) is that it has been reported (for example on Wikipedia) that Pale Moon 30 is not an official Pale Moon release and is problematic.
Another issue is that several versions of Pale Moon are extremely unstable.

What exactly did you download and from which source/mirror?
Just to be sure I verified the 64-bit installers and archive/portables and they all seem to be fine. If it was one of the external mirrors please let me know exactly which one. Also, please check the checksums of what you downloaded against the ones posted on the download page, and verify if you use a shortcut that it is pointing to the correct program location (perhaps you have both architectures installed).

Sorry for the delayed response --- I have been away from my PC all day. I do know that the download was not from a mirror and was from the actual Pale Moon website. However, when I go to the download page, it seems to be different from what I had before. I will try that and let you know the result. Thanks for your patience.

What I can tell you now is that 30.0.1 x32 is extremely unstable and crashes almost immediately. Is this an actual Pale Moon version. I am now using Edge because I can't get Pale Moon to work.
I found the downloaded 29.4.6 x64 and I am going to try it and see what happens.

It is an actual Pale Moon version and it was recalled, as clearly stated... well, everywhere.
It is known to have functional and stability issues and should not be used.
