Presumably we should (when applicable) request sites change their PM download link to the roll-back release

Unread post by Pallid Planetoid » 2022-04-03, 15:52

Example: https://pale-moon.en.uptodown.com/windows/download

As of the time of this post this sites download button links to the PMv30.0.1 download.

In this case I sent this message to them:
Please change the Pale Moon download link from v30.0.1release (v30 releases have been rolled-back) to the currently correct 29.4.5.1 release. (leaving the link "as is" will not appropriately serve your user base) Please refer to this link for details: https://www.palemoon.org/ - specifically the reference to (under "Top news"): "21 march 2022 Pale Moon 30 rollout cancelled. Following severe issues with the unexpected exit of a core dev and considerable damage caused to our operations, the milestone 30 rollout has been cancelled".

Thank you

I immediately contacted our official mirrors but obviously can't control any of the hundreds of "download portals".
This is why a recall tends to be avoided if at all possible.

yea - recalls can cause all kinds of distressing consequences.

The Download site (Uptodown) notified me they have already updated their download app:

Quick response! (confirmed: their download is now "Pale Moon 29.4.5.1")
