So, this version 30 is pretty sweet
Fast, good looking, seems to render most sites with ease. Can't find anything not to like so far. Two thumbs way up.

Re: So, this version 30 is pretty sweet
After a day of use, I still can't find anything to complain about. All my extensions are working, and it does seem to load several sites faster. I also like the improved looks, especially the improved appearance of the context menus, which is a silly thing to focus on but the improvement is greatly appreciated. I'll take some time to test the memory and cpu usage this weekend, I'm hoping to find that Pale Moon is still the low-memory champ among all major browsers when used with the Suspender extension.

Ditto here too.
There was an audible gasp in the room (I'm the only one here) after upgrading from 29.1.1 to 30.0.0 and seeing all (7) of my addons functional, no errs or warnings. Awesome!
A big THANKS! to all.

Yep, this is browsing the way it should be and we are very lucky to still have this. No other current browser in public release affords this kind of gracious navigation of the web anymore, with the possible exception of SeaMonkey.

The performance, memory management and web compatibiliity improvements are the key ones for me.

My experience has been completely the opposite. Nothing seems to work right, the browser is much slower in loading, even addons that still should be supported are now disabled. I had to roll back to 29.4.4.andyprough wrote: ↑2022-03-17, 21:55Fast, good looking, seems to render most sites with ease. Can't find anything not to like so far. Two thumbs way up.
Sorry for the negative review folks. Hopefully whatever is causing the problem will be ironed out. If not, I'm staying where I am.

One thing I noticed later today was that a webmail I was using did not want to give me the option to add an attachment, but I tried again a bit later and it worked, so I think that was a glitch on the side of the webmail servers. Other than that, nearly everything seems a slight bit quicker for me so far. I only use a few typical security and privacy extensions and they still work like normal.BKelley56 wrote: ↑2022-03-19, 00:51My experience has been completely the opposite. I have to say I must echo most of the other posters here. I tried the new 30 coming from 29.1 and all the extension work nicely. I miss the Walnut theme but understand that things take time. So far a nice job and it took a nice job to get me to move on from 29.1. Been a PM user for many years and this is a step in the right direction. Thanks

Re: So, this version 30 is pretty sweet
Sorry to be the odd one out but i found the cpu usage to be far too high with the new version. However i am using quite an old laptop so this is not a complaint directly but merely an observation..Just with my homepage open..(DDG) the cpu was using around 48% consistently and i have not found a cause.
As i say this is not a critique and to be perfectly fair i should upgrade to more recent hardware. So for the time being i have rolled back to the previous version which still serves my needs.

Re: So, this version 30 is pretty sweet
As I'm sure many of you, version 30 was "recalled" sort to speak I guess. The recommendation was to roll back to 29.4.6. I had to roll back to 28.9.3 because a plugin I use (Open Links in New Tab) is no longer supported and I use that plugin quite often. If anyone can point me to an updated version of that plugin, or a comparable one, I'd be grateful but I'm staying where I am for the foreseeable future. I will continue to support Palemoon and I constantly urge others to do the same. It is a great browser and I hope to utilize it for years to come. Thanks for your time.

If you use that extension (note: extension, NOT plug-in) to simply open links in a new tab, why not just use middle click your mouse?
