A little bit of history...
This may be slightly off-topic, but yet I am curious about something that may have some repercussions on my configuration, yet. I have read somewhere that Pale Moon as of today descends from Firefox 38, not early. I remember I so recently on this forum that a bug fixed implemented by Mozilla for Firefox was brought in Pale Moon as well. Does Pale Moon get some new, fresh code from Firefox, at times?

Not right at all. The quote below, while referencing Pale Moon 25, is still applicable today (I'm sure I'll get corrected if this is wrong).Lotusisrael wrote:

Or, to quote Tobin, Pale Moon is not Firefox and never will be again. So, to be clear once again here: Pale Moon 25 is not based on Firefox 25. It's not based on any specific version of Firefox anymore, is an individually developed fork with a hybrid of code from many different versions of Firefox 24 and beyond as well as plenty of own code, and should be seen in its own right, with its own versions, based on its own release schedule and features.

Re: A little bit of history...
Considering this wasn't a support question I've moved it to a better board.

One thing still remains un-clear. If Pale Moon diverged on version 24 from Firefox, how come Goanna diverged from Gecko at version 26? Up to 26, Pale Moon used standard Gecko, the same as in Firefox? I do not understand.

Re: A little bit of history...
We forked Gecko the moment we started to make edits to the layout&rendering engine, so it's not really been used as "standard Gecko" from the moment we forked off the browser. However, for a while we continued to carry the Gecko name for it, with relatively small changes, but eventually we had to choose a different name for it since it was no longer Gecko.Lotusisrael wrote: ↑2020-02-05, 21:40One thing still remains un-clear.
