Pale Moon forum

Pale Moon occasionally hangs and stutters during normal use. I used WhatIsHang to get a hang report:

I did note MalwareBytes was mentioned in the hang report, so it might be caused by that? If you think it is, I'll send a bug report to them.

Turn off MWB's web protection for a while and see if that improves things

Web Protection or Anti-Exploit? or both?

I'd start with web protection.

If no improvement, re enable, and disable exploit protection.

Note: I'm not saying this as a response to your crash report; its a simple response to the word malwarebytes. I never enable web protection, assuming its just going to chew up resources for zero return.

Also, the current version of Malwarebytes (3.5.1) has a problem with their web protection module, causing BSODs with netio.sys. They're still trying to fix that, so they're recommending to leave web protection off in the meantime.

Been running with Malwarebytes fully disabled for a bit and it's still hanging, so I'd guess that it's unrelated.
