Reload still does not work, for me...
Neither my reload button, nor via 'right click'.
I can get a reload via right click on the tab in question, and "reload tab".

Does it work in safe mode and/or F5?

Last time I tried safe mode it took me some time to get things back to normal, so I am not inclined to try that route...doofy wrote:Does it work in safe mode and/or F5?
Clicking F5 does not work either.

What does right-click show?nor via 'right click'
I'll note that you seem to have many extensions that would appear to have duplicated functionality - even if some are disabled.
Make a copy of your Profile, then open that copy up in Safe Mode & test.
Or open your current copy in Safe Mode & test, then restore from the backup copy.

If you don't trust your browser to go into safe mode and back without serious hassle, that suggests a deeper problem than the loss of some reload functionality.Rickkins wrote:Last time I tried safe mode it took me some time to get things back to normal, so I am not inclined to try that route...
I'd view that as new profile time.
In the meantime, I suggest you try some of the reload options available in TMP. For example - here, double clicking reloads a tab, as does hitting "v".

Thing is, previous version of this very same browser works flawlessly, as do all other browsers. Scrapping the whole thing and starting from scratch is simply not on.doofy wrote:If you don't trust your browser to go into safe mode and back without serious hassle, that suggests a deeper problem than the loss of some reload functionality.Rickkins wrote:Last time I tried safe mode it took me some time to get things back to normal, so I am not inclined to try that route...

Right click shows the appropriate box, with all the correct choices, including "reload".therube wrote:What does right-click show?nor via 'right click'

Clicking on reload just doesn't do anything...

Am I correct in thinking you recently installed PM28 over the top of PM27?Rickkins wrote:Thing is, previous version of this very same browser works flawlessly, as do all other browsers. Scrapping the whole thing and starting from scratch is simply not on.

And it's possible you ignored the recommendation to back up your profile before doing so.Rickkins wrote:Yes.doofy wrote:Am I correct in thinking you recently installed PM28 over the top of PM27?Rickkins wrote:Thing is, previous version of this very same browser works flawlessly, as do all other browsers. You've hosed your browser.
First by installing a load of addons that might conflict with each other; second by taking the one way street to PM28, which warns of possible data loss. (To which I'd add: unexpected consequences).
Did you follow up on my earlier suggestion to try to enable reload functionality through TMP?

Re: Reload still does not work, for me...
Upgrading a profile from 27 to 28 is fine. You just can't go back once you do without data loss.
However, the extensions listed could VERY WELL be cause of the problems here.
Starting in Safe Mode and verifying if the problem still exists there is an essential step to determine whether it's a browser issue or an interop issue. If you're not willing to do that, then this is where my support ends.
If restarting after using Safe Mode is problematic, then there is a definite pointer to one or more extensions not being compatible and/or profile data being corrupt. A new profile is recommended in that case.

Re: Reload still does not work, for me...
Tried safe mode, problem disappeared. Restarted and browser returned to normal, which is a vast improvement over last time I tried that, some years ago.
Removed all extensions no longer in use, still no joy.
Some further info.

Thanks.therube wrote:The see if its one of the extensions still in use, http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diag ... ion_issues.
I got around to trying this today, and straight off it worked, in the sense that after disabling all extensions with the "red" dot beside them the issue went away. I assume that re-enabling them one by one should narrow it down.
Thanks again...

And I found it. Turns out the culprit was IETAB 4.0.20130422.1
Thanks again, and now I can switch to the new version.

Removed ietab and replaced it with "open with", found on the adons page and it works like a charm...
