I do not use Linux Mint anymore, but I think the newest versions of Mint 22.2, are now all 64 bit. I could be wrong on this, but with Mint, I do not think a 32 bit browser will run in 64 bit Mint whether the desktop environment is Cinnamon, Mate or Xfce.
Even LMDE 7 is now 64 bit.

When I click on the Basilisk desktop icon, nothing happens. I get no problems or errors when installing the program. It's just that the program executable on the desktop does not do anything.

Sorry for the late response. Family matters have kept me from the computer for a few days.
At this stage I think I am going to try all Linux Tarball files..
Linux i686 tarball: x86 32-bit GTK2 | x86 32-bit GTK3
Linux x86_64 tarball: x86 64-bit GTK2 | x86 64-bit GTK3
Linux aarch64 tarball: ARM 64-bit GTK2 | ARM 64-bit GTK3
At this point I have nothing to lose so why not try each one and see which one works.
Off-topic: Windows is not Linux and Linux is not Windows.
When I was using 64 bit Windows 7, I was running 32 bit Pale Moon. But when I switched over to Linux , on the Mint forums I was told if my motherboard was 64 bit, choose 64 bit Mint and use 64 bit browsers.
As an experiment, I tried to launch 32 bit linux Pale Moon and it would not launch in Mint. But 64 bit linux Pale Moon launched. I also used 64 bit linux Waterfox in Mint and Waterfox launched.
I now use 64 bit MX Linux (Xfce) and 64 bit Debian (Xfce). Both 64 bit linux Pale Moon and 64 bit Waterfox launch and work well in both of these linux distros.
