"Secure Connection Failed" on www.mindfactory.de

Unread post by Mark-PM » 2024-10-23, 15:30

https://www.mindfactory.de is a leading german IT online store, and it isn't working since a couple of weeks in both browsers, Basilisk and PaleMoon, on Debian 11 and Windows 7.
Maybe my OSs are too outdated, or do i have missconfigurated something? However, no problems with FF 102 on both systems...

I'm not able to replicate this in the latest version of Basilisk, 2024.10.24. Can you update and try again?

Thanks!

Works as expected for me as well, as does the latest Pale Moon, on Windows 11.

The issue remains with latest Serpent on Linux too. What's wrong here? For a moment i thought that this could relate to the fact, that i disable time syncronisation in each environment... BUT as i wrote: Firefox isn't affected. Very strange!
Are there any logs or diagnoses that i could investigate?

Same is happening here. You can workaround it by changing the user agent for that site (don’t ask me why):

about:config → New → String → (Name) general.useragent.override.mindfactory.de → (Value) Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:6.7) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/52.9.2024.10.24

I tested a few other values and found a weird thing:

It didn’t work for this one: Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.9 Basilisk/52.9.2024.10.24 until I removed the “Firefox/52.9” part, then it worked.

i also tried with "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:126.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/126.0" but it didn' work neither.

I do have an explanation but it's not possible to articulate it without insulting the responsable webdevelopers / web-framework developers.
Have a nice day!

Feel free to insult, mock, degrade, or otherwise speak negatively of any web developers and web framework developers who make mediocre websites and software. As a matter of fact I'd encourage it.

May I suggest the colourful term "Arschgeige"?
