FAQ Section Added to Basilisk Site

Unread post by Basilisk-Dev » 2023-07-11, 23:16

I added an FAQ section to the Basilisk site. Let me know if there are any other questions that you think I should add. Thanks!

If you need support for these browsers, please do not ask us for support unless you have verified that the issue you are encountering also occurs on official Basilisk builds. Serpent is not Basilisk. Basilisk is not Serpent.
I'd say remove the highlighted bit. Let users of Serpent stick to asking for help from its maintainer.

I think there's a typo. The question for: "Does Basilisk Windows 2000/XP/Vista?" Shouldn't the word "support" be in there?

Why, if the problem also occurs in Basilisk?

Why should Basilisk-dev set himself up to support a browser other than the one he maintains, and why can't roytam do this for his own build? We've already had New Moon users showing up here despite being told not to.

If the (potential) problem also exists in Basilisk, then the Basilisk dev is fixing his own browser, with the side effect it fixes a third-party one based on it. I would say that to refuse to fix a problem in Basilisk because it was first found elsewhere, would be like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Just my humble opinion.

Fixed, thanks.

While I agree with not supporting roytam's browser as that is not my project, the wording here is specifically saying "If the issue occurs in Basilisk then let us know". In other words, the bug is legitimate and needs to be fixed because it affects users of Basilisk.
