New Update
Thanks for maintaining Basilisk.
1) When is the new update coming, having the similar changes as Pale Moon v32.2.0?
2) On average, how many days should we normally wait for Basilisk's follow-up update after Pale Moon releases one?

Re: New Update
No need to rush, the Basilisk team are doing their best. It is usually anything, at worst, from a week to a month.

Re: New Update
It's available as of about 10 minutes ago.
Usually I try to have a build up within a week of a Pale Moon release. I have had times where it was up to three weeks after a Pale Moon release for a Basilisk release to occur, but generally I try to avoid long gaps like that. It really depends on what is going on at that moment in my personal life and whether I am home or not as I travel several times a year for my job.
I'm expecting another child around the end of July/beginning of August so it's very likely that releases around that time will be delayed by multiple weeks.
Re: New Update
I get a crash with a url ending in mp4 using latest 2023.05.17. Alerted some staff members.

Re: New Update
Hello there
I am using Basilisk on a daily basis, and my current version is still 2022.01.27, even though a couple of updates have been published since.
Do I have to reinstall Basilisk to update to the newest version, or will I be notified by the browser when it is time to update, as previously done?
Greets and best wishes
Uwe

Re: New Update
I figured out that it is NoScript and it's actively being looked at.
In the meantime I've had to roll back since a much freakier crash happened on youtube where the display driver had to restart. I feel like I probably couldn't replicate again and to be honest I wouldn't want to. Maybe since it's video it might have been a NoScript thing again though so probably my fault for continuing being risky with that.

Re: New Update
Interesting, I question if the issue you're facing is actually caused by NoScript. I myself use Basilisk with NoScript and I tested that video file you linked with the NoScript extension enabled. I did not experience any crash.

That being said, yes you will need to reinstall Basilisk to update to the latest version. You will also need to follow the instructions on this page if you want your bookmarks and installed extensions to carry over. After this Basilisk autoupdates will work again.
Re: New Update
From our analysis in the crash issue, it is. It seems that NoScript has the (dangerous) tendency to block the loading of internal browser/UI/component scripts. i.e. it's indiscriminantly blocking script loads instead of what it should do, which is only affect content scripts.Basilisk-Dev wrote: ↑2023-05-21, 17:59I question if the issue you're facing is actually caused by NoScript.

Thank you for the hint, and please pardon me for not opening a new topic ^^
Re: New Update
I guess you've configured for less strict blocking. I'm very used to the way I have mine set up, and while it may seem like a lot of fuss, it's basically become second nature at this point, so it's difficult to throw in the towel. I suppose I treat it like a video game kind of thing. Playing those can be torturous sometimes, but get used to it, and before you know it it's been 5 hours.Basilisk-Dev wrote: ↑2023-05-21, 17:59
