Basilisk 2022.09.28 Released!

Unread post by Basilisk-Dev » 2022-09-29, 01:13

Basilisk 2022.09.28 has been released!

See the release notes for more information.

Please note that the default search engines have changed to match up with the search engines included out of the box in Pale Moon. It's possible that your search engine configuration may have changed, please verify that your browser is still configured to use your preferred search engine.

IMPORTANT: The vendor has changed from "moonchild productions" to "basilisk-dev". To transfer your existing profile to the new Basilisk versions moving forward please do the following:
On Windows: Copy %appdata%\Moonchild Productions\Basilisk to %appdata%\Basilisk-Dev\Basilisk
On Linux: Copy $HOME/.moonchild productions/basilisk to $HOME/.basilisk-dev/basilisk

Autoupdates will not work from Moonchild Productions releases to Basilisk Development Team releases due to changes in the compression algorithm used for the autoupdate files. You will need to manually perform an update from a Moonchild Productions version of Basilisk to our version. After this one-time manual update autoupdates will work again.

First, thanks for taking over and maintaining Basilisk. I love having it as my secondary browser (which I use almost as much as my first).

I would like to know if there is some way to be notified of updates. I haven't found a rss or a signup email. Personally I would find a rss to be more convenient but IIRC Gitea doesn't have that.

I got an e-mail notification from Gitea when he released it, and I think it's because I watch his repo on there.

If you have a Gitea account, try watching his repo and see if it notifies you of things.
"The Athenians, however, represent the unity of these opposites; in them, mind or spirit has emerged from the Theban subjectivity without losing itself in the Spartan objectivity of ethical life. With the Athenians, the rights of the State and of the individual found as perfect a union as was possible at all at the level of the Greek spirit." -- Hegel's philosophy of Mind

Ugh, thanks. I don't have a Gitea account, and I really don't want to signup for yet another account to keep track of.
