[Basilisk2-devel] bin/cue files

Unread post by GeorgeStevens » 2021-08-14, 06:42

I've developed changes to Basilisk and Sheepshaver to provide limited support
for bin/cue files specifically to enable the use of (images of) mixed
digital/audio cdroms.

It's been suggested on the SheepShaver forum that I post those files
here. Is it
appropriate to attach a tar.gz file to this list ? If that's
inappropriate, is there
somebody who would like to catch these files, possibly for checkin to
the cvs repository ?

In SheepShaver, SDL audio and OS X core audio work and have been
tested on linux and OS X.
In Basilisk SDL audio works and has been tested on linux.

The only bin/cue files my code supports are ones with a single binary
and 2532 tracks (audio and raw
data).

So... what is this [basilisk2-devel], exactly? because that's not something we publish.

As for the meat of your post, bin/cue support might be interesting for the platform, perhaps, but not for Basilisk as a product.

Mind you we've considered using SDL as an audio library but nobody did any work on it (Issue #247 (UXP)) and we are using ALSA/PulseAudio on Linux. Either that has to be picked up or the proposed code has to use our normal internal audio libraries (talking directly to SDL from within our platform code only for this format support while not being used otherwise is a no-no)

Regardless I'd be interested in looking at your proposed patches, please move that over to UXP platform development though.

I'm guessing the OP has mistaken us for the Basilisk II emulator.
