Issues with running old Flash and Java games in Basilisk

Unread post by P-Tux7 » 2021-07-01, 20:39

Hello everybody,

Thanks for keeping this browser that has compatibility with old Flash and Java games. It's nice to be able to revisit my childhood. I like using it better than Flashpoint because I can browse the old game websites.

However, I have an issue - some Flash games do not accept inputs from the keyboard even after I have clicked in the window. (In these cases, they always accept mouse inputs)
Example of flash game with unresponsive keyboard controls:

I've heard something about "Use the old Flash instead of Pepper Flash", but I'm not sure how to disable that in Firefox-based browsers like Basilisk, only Chromium ones. I'm running 32.0.0.363 of Flash, which I've heard is the last version without the kill-switch activated.

I also cannot run Java games - I have Java version 8 update 271 installed on my computer, and I can run .jar files just fine, but I do not see it in the Basilisk plug-in manager. Thus, this means that Java content is not running in Basilisk.
Example of Java game:

I do believe that I am running v2021.04.27 of Basilisk.
