hello
after some time of using, collect some tabs and reach ~1,25GB memory browser just freeze forever (using only 1 core)
it looks like memory leak or something, very strange. only restart can unfreeze it. then whole cycle starts from the beginning.

Well for starters, try updating your graphics driver to one that isn't 14 years out of date.

Not according to a quick DDG search.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/produc ... ss-Chipset -- still very old but at least an update. And perhaps there are newer ones to be found.

Oh.. you are on XP? Where did you get this Basilisk version? because there should not be any officially-branded Basilisk versions that run on Windows XP. :problem:

It's a good place to start. Problems with old drivers can easily lead to memory inflation especially on old Intel ones.

Well considering you're on a discontinued platform (Windows XP) on a discontinued architecture (32-bit) using an unofficial hacked build (Roytam's Serpent builds) in limited memory situation we can't help.

You also ignored this at the top of that page you linked to:
These projects have no affiliation with any upstream community code sources or organizations. Please direct all support or related questions to here.
So please go get help on roytam's page.

i'm pretty sure there are plenty of alternative OSes that will run just fine on your hardware.

In my experience of using an old Firefox under XP 32, it starts to freeze when consuming memory 1.2 - 1.4. Sometimes it went up to 1.8. Nothing could be done about it.
You can try Puppy Linux. It doesn't require installation.

Speaking just to this...
You can try installing the browser extension GitHub WebComponents Polyfill which provides a workaround to use GitHub.

The extension supports current Basilisk proper, though am not sure about your "Roy Tam variant" or its release number.

Off-topic:
I thought it was kind of suspicious that the OP's OS as stated in the first post was "Windows_NT 5.1" (which of course is XP), but I figured "nah, something's got to be wrong here, Basilisk has no chance of running on XP, maybe it's Vista's XP compatibility mode."

@bentium: Unfortuneatly, current Pale Moon can't support every OS. Please check the MSFN forum for Windows XP browsers. These are modified versions, that can't be supported here.

https://msfn.org/board/topic/180462-my- ... nt=1196984

There are some links to Roytams homepage, where you get the binaries for the XP-forks from, without going to Github it seems...

If your dual-core hardware performs well, maybe you could switch to a 64-Bit Linux of your choice. Could be even a bigger distro than Puppy Linux. With that you could use current Pale Moon.

If 64-bit is not an option, there's also a 32-bit version of Puppy Linux (latest version for that arch is 8.0). Then you can use stevepusser's Ubuntu builds.
