This is a major development update. Please see the Basilisk release notes for details.

"Basilisk has been split off from the UXP platform repository and will be maintained as its own application with UXP as a platform module."

This sounds good for Basilisk (which I love) but I'm not clear on what it means?

It means that the Basilisk application code no longer lives in the UXP repo but its own and it is built in a comm configuration. This doesn't really change anything as far as the final result you download and run but does change how you build, commit to, file specific issues.

Thank you. I thought it was something like that. I appreciate the clarification.

This reminded me to update the homepage link to the correct repo on GitHub. Thanks!

FYI "Windows ZIP archive" links are not working

But I understand that for those who just want to unzip and execute, just opening the .exe with Winzip/7zip and extracting basilisk-latest.winXX.installer.exe\core\ to a folder is the same than unzip the zip archive. right?

No it isn't. and I had already changed that but I guess i used the wrong file for this source update...
I'll have it fixed in a minute.

Actually it is the same as using the archive BUT only because the nsis installer was simplified some years back. If we ever changed installers that or got the nsis instalker to offer optional bits or conditional bits like Mozilla used to back in the earlier days of the nsis installer then that wouldn't be all there is to it.

So do not ever rely on this working as you intend. But yes, as it stands today that is the case but tomorrow it might not be.
