Not enough info to troubleshoot the problem.
Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
Wasn't there an identical thread about this?

Pretty sure there was, but I can't find it now.

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
Everytime I run the Basilisk browser... 2 instances of the browser was open. (2 windows of it).
How can I run only 1 instance (1 window)?
Maybee some tweak/setting in about:config?

This is the only case I can remember, and it has been fixed a long time ago.

You're probably thinking of Issue #1448 (UXP), where you directed them to the forums.

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
You are still not providing enough troubleshooting informations.
Start with listing any extension you might have installed.

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
Your question above didn't provide enough information to help you since you only stated you're running linux Ubuntu. You were then asked to provide some detailed info and your answer is below.nerd74 » Wed Feb 19, 2020 3:50 am

It is basically the same info and no other info. You're going to have to provide some detailed info with examples like:nerd74 » Wed Feb 19, 2020 6:48 am

How can I run only 1 instance (1 window)?
Maybee some tweak/setting in about:config?
1) Were you using windows Basilisk in either Windows 7 or 10 and then came over to linux Ubuntu where you transferred your windows Basilisk profile into your new linux Basilisk profile? This will cause problems.
2) Starting off with a fresh linux Basilisk profile and using it over and over and over, etc? Over time, profiles will eventually get corrupted and cause problems.
3) Are you using an out of date extension because this will cause a problem to? As an example, a Pale Moon extension which was compatible up to version 27 and it is not compatible with version 28.
4) Were you tinkering with the code in Basilisk in "about:config"? This can cause problems too.
Bottom line. You're going to have to provide some "detailed info" because your two posts above don't provide hardly any useful information for anyone to play detective and help you.

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
I don't running Windows.
I downloaded Basilisk browser from here:
https://www.basilisk-browser.org/download.shtml
Extracted it in Ubuntu 19.04 Terminal.
Started the Basilisk browser.
installed 4 AddOns:
Block Content 0.3
CanvasBlocker Legacy 0.2
HTTPS Always 5.2.24
Self-Destructing Cookies for Pale-Moon 1.0.4.13
Restarted.
See this, why 2 instances of the Web browser are open. Everytime I started the Web browser... :/
I tested it without the installed AddOns, created new profile.
Nothing works.

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
If you created a new profile, what are those two icons, the green "H" and the red circle? Are you sure you opened Basilisk from the new profile?
Can you tell us the exact command you used to do this?nerd74 wrote:

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
Installing 4 extensions != a clean profiles, of course.
Most likely it's one of your extensions causing this.

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
Might also be useful to know how you start the browser.
Do you run it from the terminal? Do you click on the executable?

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
I'll try it again on my other machine.
Without any AddOns.
Started Terminal
mkdir www
cd www
tar xf basilisk-latest.linux64.tar.xz
cd basilisk
./basilisk
Basilisk opens 2 instances again :-/
Same, when I run Basilisk over a shortcut from menu.

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
On your "other machine" did you also clear our the profile location before trying, or had you not run basilisk before on it?

cd www
tar xf basilisk-latest.linux64.tar.xz
cd basilisk
./basilisk -no-remote -P
changed Basilisk profile folder to another path

started Basilisk browser again and now it works with 1 instance of the browser but it opens 2 tabs :/

Re: Basilisk browser opens 2 instances at start
So basically something in your old profile was messing up the startup.
