Basilisk does not open sites!
Basilisk of the latest version (2019.09.12 x64), Windows 7 x64. Try to open the weather website: https://yandex.ru/pogoda/
What is it? Not in the best way, but also NoScript. There are many sites where the Basilisk slows down and hangs. What is the reason? How to fix it? (Pale Moon and Waterfox have the same behavior)
Chromoclones and Firefox Quantum open without difficulty.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Don't use Noscript, it is known to not work properly with Pale Moon or Basilisk. Use ematrix for blocking content and scripts. See if the site works after disabling Noscript, it is working fine for me.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
I do not use NoScript. Clean browser. The site does not open. Hangs completely. Why?
The NoScript just tried to apply. Opens. But slowly. And wrong.
I'll try eMatrix. But these are all crutches.
Why is this happening on the Basilisk (both at the Pale Moon, and at Waterfox)? It looks like on all legacy browsers. All chromoclones open any sites without difficulty!

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Also, sometimes the browser does not open some sites with video chat content. Written: "Wait, a connection is in progress." And that’s all. Chromobrowsers and Quantum open immediately.
The browser is clean. No extensions.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Video chat sites may be using WebRTC - which is an API that Pale Moon does not and will not support - see the disabled features section here. Not sure if the same applies to Basilisk. What are these other sites that have problems? Without links we won't know.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Basilisk supports WebRTC, to a degree.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Almost all web pages of Yandex are stuffed with ads and scripts. It is even more intrusive than Google. That is why I dislike services of Yandex and use practically none of them.roma6266 wrote: ↑2019-10-19, 10:13Try to open the weather website: https://yandex.ru/pogoda/

However, Pale Moon (v28.7.1 x64) opens the indicated site without any problem (uBO is active; unnecessary scripts and frames are blocked).
If you want to go on with Yandex, install a reliable ad blocker, e.g. uBlock Origin Legacy.

Yandex.ru/pogoda displays fine here in Basilisk-2019.09.12. (Win 7 x86)
Adblocker (uBO in my case) is active. As for other sites, if you want help with them please provide specifics and links.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Fresh Basilisk 2019.09.12 x64 with a clean profile. One extension installed - uBlock Origin 1.13.8. The page https://yandex.ru/pogoda/ does not open. Hangs tight.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Waterfox also does not open sites with video chat content. Web RTC is present there. And in no way affects the work - on / off.
Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
How about without gorhill's content blocker?
Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Without blocking, without uBo, opens. Slowly but open. A similar situation is in Waterfox.
Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Okay, but if your filters in ublock are blocking something the site wants or needs to function then THAT is your problem not the browser or its capabilities. Your attitude as well as your understanding of the universe really needs adjustment.
Also don't post links to pornographic sites. Reported.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
Sure. I won’t do it again.
But it never works. Ad blocker is disabled. Ad blocker enabled. There is no difference.

You're contradicting yourself.
But what was already said:
So either fix your filters, use a different filter subscription, or make an exception for the site that doesn't work for you.New Tobin Paradigm wrote: ↑2019-10-26, 17:27Okay, but if your filters in ublock are blocking something the site wants or needs to function then THAT is your problem not the browser or its capabilities.
Since there's no problem opening the site for others, it's clearly a configuration mistake on your end. We can't fix PEBCAK.

Or update uBlock Origin : you're using 1.13.8, the last version is 1.16.4.11

"You're contradicting yourself." - says Moonchild.
There is no contradiction. Now I'm talking about the fact that the Basilisk does not open video chat content. This does not work either when it is turned on uBlock Origin, or when it is turned off uBlock Origin.
I will not give a link to the site. This was discussed above. But this does not work, fact. I believe that the browser should work adequately on all sites of the modern web.

Re: Basilisk does not open sites!
I believe you should be a bit less entitled in your approach to browser projects.
If you're unhappy with what Basilisk offers you in terms of your web experience, and want every site in existence to work with 0 effort by you, then please, use the browser with the largest market share in the world that all websites seem to be targeting and testing against anyway, and you'll have a bigger chance that the websites you want to use work (but never 100% there either). Oh, and don't block anything either on it, because sites will not work then either in that case.
Fact: it works here. Conclusion: it's not a browser problem. Solution: work with us to solve it, not against us.
Video chat may or may not work depending on what the website tries to use - and if you don't provide a link, then we can't help you. Some services simply require chrome or a chrome-based browser for video chat. Additionally, a web browser is not a dedicated video chat client; it has to fill many tasks so something as specialized as video chat is only a small part of what a browser needs to do and will get proportional development attention.
