Addons blocked from official addon site despite whitelisting

Unread post by moonbat » 2019-08-09, 13:16

Despite being whitelisted by default, it blocks extensions from the default extensions site, and I have to click on allow despite having granted the site the permission to do so. Known bug?

> Addons blocked
Do you mean it blocks add-ons from being installed?
> from official addon site
From this site? https://addons.basilisk-browser.org/extensions/
(Or was it addons.palemoon.org, in which case you may have been trying to install something not compatible.)

No problem like that here.
Which add-on(s) did you try to install?
What specifically happened when you tried to install them? And if you got a message/warning, what did it say?

Yes to all, the regular addons page for Basilisk, and it's not addon or site specific. The browser simply ignores the whitelist and blocks all addons from anywhere being installed, and you have to manually click 'Allow'. Saw this right from a fresh install, so it's not due to any extension interference.

Any installation of extensions will always ask for confirmation -- that behavior will not be changed for obvious reasons (e.g. drive-by extension installation). The whitelist is there to prevent the doorhanger from popping up that informs about a site attempting to install (an) extension(s).
