Are you sure it's not an extension causing the sound?
Restart in Safe Mode & check.

I hear no sound on download completion?


SeaMonkey has a pref, browser.download.finished_download_sound (that I never knew existed).
I tried adding it to PM, but it had no affect.

Thanks for your reply, and your helpful tip! You were spot on; Download Stattusbar plays a completion sound. What threw me was that either they have changed the default sound (which is LOUD and ABUSIVE) or I changed it to some other sound when I used it with Firefox.
