So please explain me the benefit of using basilisk instead of pale moon, after this changes.

Vaguely or Unmodified Firefox XUL Extensions especially those targeting Australis/CustomizableUI, DRM, and WebRTC...

Benefit also are extensions that may or may not be multi-application compatible that can target Basilisk and Pale Moon and other applications.

The same as it has always been: personal preference for UI, workflow, feature set, and general target audience (DRM, WebRTC, Australis, Accessibility hardware, parental controls, general compatibility with unaltered Firefox extensions, etc. etc.).
This question is once more a typical "we don't understand anything but extremes" question -- just because one experimental feature is dropped, doesn't suddenly mean everything else becomes without value.

Yes, I understand, mainly for technical reasons but still...
Maybe you should reconsider this decision because cutting Basilisk off of the rest of the (webExtension) world, so to speak, might not be the best idea after all.

Thank you so much for taking such good care of my problem. I'll try the old extension a while. It's just a bit more inconvenient than the current extension. But I won't change the main program. It works very well as it is, e. g. the sync with my cloud, and I don't want to change anything there. So thanks again!

Well this really sucks. I updated Basilisks today and lost all my addons. I go to the PaleMoon site and the few addons I want are not compatible. The addons I want the most are the following:

uBlock Origin
HTTPS Everywhere
Cookie AutoDelete
Privacy Badger
Decentraleyes
CanvasBlocker
Open in VLC media player
User-Agent Switcher
Flagfox

So should I hang around Basilisk or start searching for a new browser?

Here are versions to look for for some of your list (or links with help):
uBlock Origin - 1.13.8
CanvasBlocker - 0.3.8
User-Agent Switcher - User Agent Overrider 0.5.2
Flagfox - Thread Note the updates in Thread for GeoTool usage.

Hope those version numbers and information elements help.

If the most recent version on APMO doesn't work (since it's an xul/webextension hybrid), try the most recent xul version - I believe that would be v1.3.7.
If that doesn't work, open an issue with the extension's developer and request him to make it compatible.

Not a function I use myself, but if you really want this, you might check out HTTPS Always, a fork by the Hyperbola project

Also, please check out these "legacy" add-on archives (take a read here):
Classic Add-ons Archive and the Legacy Collector website

Just remember, anything is possible with the power of xul.. Not so much for the modern day regressive technologies like WebExtensions...

100% Agree with HTTPSAlways* if you think you need it. Although, Decentraleyes 1.4.2 is out already and it works for me anyways. Same with that Ublock Origin Legacy git that you mentioned.

This may surprise you or not perhaps... That I am saying this I mean... But I think you are making the right decision.

I used to think webextensions was a good idea to have support for. Now I realize that was a fool hearty if not really dumb idea. I still disagree with you on certain addons being excluded from your addons repo, but XUL is golden. 100%

Let us just say that those Hyperbola devs convinced me otherwise... And everything I need is already available including that script blocker I love so much.
