I have Windows 10 Pro, Basilisk and Thunderbird 52.9.1. Basilisk is chosen in Windows as my default browser and Thunderbird as my default email client. I have no problems like you describe. I can't help with Linux but I am wondering if, perhaps, one them is not "default" in Linux Mint?

It might be the version of TB that you have. There is a big difference between the version I still use and version 60x. (I can't upgrade as I would lose an essential extension). Probably, the differences between the two versions only matters in Windows but Basilisk is forked off Fx 52 ESR so possibly TB 52x works better with it even in Linux?

I hope Moonraker's suggestion works.

Sounds like you're using the -no-remote switch on your Basilisk (default) session?

If you copy/paste the link, does it open as expected?

Right im not sure if its related but my palemoon does the same thing except clicking on a link does absolutely nothing at all but right click does work.I am guessing its a security function of some sort...I often click on links and they are stopped in their tracks.

please explain about -no-remote switch

Check your desktop shortcut (or similar mode of opening Basilisk), Properties.
Does it show "-no-remote" in there?
So something like "basilisk.exe -no-remote".

Return to “Basilisk”
