Basilisk Update on Ubuntu 16.04?

Good Day Community,

I have a question about Basilisk and updates on Ubuntu 16.04. The way I installed Basilisk is by downloading the tarball and extracting it, thus executing it from the extracted folder.
My question is, however, when one updates via the Help -> About Basilisk method I get an error in the lines of unable to update? Has anyone managed to update an extracted Basilisk version in a home directory, i.e. download and overwrite the existing folder it executes from?

Thank You,
fatboy

As long as your user account has write permissions for the location you extracted Basilisk to the internal updater will work. Otherwise you'll need to download the new version manually, delete the directory containing Basilisk and extract the new version.
