Why do I get this bullshit every time I try an old-style Addon?

Why do I get this bullshit every time I try an old-style Addon?
Hi,
I love this new old-style browser but why do most of my add-ons get removed or deactivated overnight? And why do I get this bullshit every time I try to read an explanation?
What is "Hero Fighter Community Toolbar" (Blocked on Aug 17, 2015) anyway? I'm aware of the risks of malicious add-ons but shouldn't this be left in my responsiblity?
Any chance to stop Basilisk blocking my add-ons?
Best regards,
Paul

You get this bullshit because Mozilla's code in UXP is currently intolerant to using processor parallelization.
Only the Linux versions are affected right now, and this should be solved with the next release of Basilisk.
The item that is pulled up as details is incorrect, and it just happens to be the first item in our blocklist.

I've also been experiencing the same thing (Linux 64 bit) . Looking forward to the next release of Basilisk to fix it, as Basilisk very quickly became my browser of choice, everywhere.
Re: Why do I get this bullshit every time I try an old-style Addon?
I just hope this issue hasn't poisoned the minds of Linux users against Basilisk (and by extension Pale Moon). It's been unfixed quite a while.

If it has, then Linux users are extremely fickle. "quite a while" huh? How long, exactly? And are you forgetting what Basilisk is?helloimustbegoing wrote:I just hope this issue hasn't poisoned the minds of Linux users against Basilisk (and by extension Pale Moon). It's been unfixed quite a while.

Good morning,
It always cheers up my heard when people use something as expect it immediately to work absolutely correctly. As with anything there are always loops and holes to go through to get things to work properly and to find all bugs. One can not make everything perfect within a short time. The word is patience unless it has gone on for a year or more.
I took our Pale Moon and chose Basilisk as some things did not work well in Palemoon, especially cams and I suspect that had to do with Java, and Plugins. There is only one plugin I use that will now not update Basilisk not even today and that is Flagfox, so I stick with the older version, works just as well. In time all things will update as they find the problems and try to fix them. I must admit, I too get frustrated at time with browsers, not only this one, but all of them, for none are perfect. They all have their quirks. I too would love all plugins etc to work as they were intended too. But with all browsers, things change from time to time, the problem is, people do not wish to change with them, I am the same way. But it does little good to scold the creator as they do as best they can, one person does not make up the whole of things, many complaints come in and I suspect they get to them as soon as possible. It is not like 50 people are working on this browser or they are paid big money to do so.
I am thankful for the browser Basilisk, although not yet perfect, none are and I know of some much worse than this one. So use patience with this and all shall turn out alright. I am 71 years old and my days as a kid and having hissy fits I find no longer work well, and there is always the point one could say, if your unhappy, go to another browser, we do not mind.
To those who work on this, thank you, your doing a fine job With Basilisk. There is more to be done but then, you do not need to be told that, I am very sure your all to aware of it. But this is a dandy browser and so far I like it. I am in hopes (Before my death would be nice) it will become better in time.. Oh and thanks, early Friday morning 6:45am I have come here to read this Bullshit, now isn't that different...

Well said ForestElf, about Palemoon, and I agree on that about both browsers, none can compare. They are different as night and day and serve different purposes. I see potential for Basilisk but it works so well as is now, Palemoon speaks for itself, and its creators.Creativity and style at its finest! That is no bs.

Oh this is about Basilisk is it, who would have guessed, I would have never thought of it. I am sorry for you, that you had to mention it, as I already knew it, I was making a comparison, so sorry you did not understand that. Both browsers are good, I happen to like Basilisk better. Now is there anything else you wish to say?helloimustbegoing wrote:This thread is about Basilisk, not Pale Moon.ForestElf wrote:

What's your problem? I like both browsers also.
BTW, if you didn't notice, I'm not the OP.

As NewTobinParadigm pointed out, it is, in fact, permanent beta. See also this thread: Why is Basilisk considered "development software"?, as well as the original announcement (when Basilisk was first released).Moonraker wrote:Im not sure i would term basilisk as a permanent beta.
