as the title says both the light and dark compact themes seam to be broken ni Basilisk
if I try to set the dark compact I get this
if I set the the current theme to be the default one and change the theme from Firefox (I have Basilisk and Firefox synced) then the dark compact theme works sort off
until I restart Basilisk then I get a broken compact theme with what looks like the default theme overlayed on top of it
Compact themes broken Topic is solved

Just curious... Does this also happen for you if you don't sync?
I don't sync, and don't get the overlay effect with Compact themes shown in your top and bottom screenshots.
(Basilisk-2017.12.01, Win 7 x86)
Compact Dark (after restart) Compact Light (after restart)
Re: Compact themes broken
I don't know I've always used sync as I needed my bookmarks and some of my addons
I'll disable sync and try again

Re: Compact themes broken
nope the same issue happens with sync disabled but that got me thinking so I restarted with addons disabled and the issue disappeared
it's an addon I had two webext addons I removed them both and the issue is gone
I'm guessing it's something in the webext code that's messing up the UI

Glad you figured it out.
It's not a given that every webext will cause this, if that's what you were thinking.ianas wrote:I'm guessing it's something in the webext code that's messing up the UI
I had a web extension installed in the testing profile used for my screenshots. It didn't interfere with the compact themes.
So would you mind sharing which two webexts you had installed, so others can know?
Re: Compact themes broken
actually I jumped the gun
I had acrobat dc installed I read that pdf 2.0 was out and I wanted to test it out (it turns out acrobat can read pdf 2.0 not create them so it was useless)
when I was removing the webext addons I removed (which I manually installed) the acrobat convert to pdf xpcom addon
adobe has included a webext addon which does not cause this issue
it's not a webext addon but adobe acrobat's convert to pdf xpcom addon
