Greasemonkey 3.x was buggy so I switched to tampermonky on Firefox as Tampermonkey went full webext I can't seam to get it to work on Basilisk although it installs fine
seeing how Greasemonkey 4.0 is also a pure webext addon anybody got
on the features page I read
Experimental support for WebExtensions (in gecko-target mode). Please note that some Mozilla-specific WebExtension APIs are not yet available.
how do I enable gecko-target mode so I can try WebExt addons or a maybe suggestion for a decent userscript manager for Basilisk?

This fork is working fine for me on Basilisk (as well as on Pale Moon). You'll see in the notes there, it's been tested on both.
Am using greasemonkey-3.30rc2-pm_forkBranch:
