Which is the preference folder?

Unread post by balaco » 2017-11-22, 01:36

I recently downloaded Basilisk, to check it a bit. Now I am probably decided to keep permanently it in my linux box. (:

But which is the Basilisk preference folder? Firefox is ~/.mozilla/firefox/

Why not ~/.basilisk ?

I tested... it kept the bookmarks and other settings changes... so they are somewhere, I just cannot find it. Please tell me where I should search Basilisk profiles' folders?

On Linux:

Code: Select all

~./moonchild productions/basilisk
If you happen to be on Windows:

Code: Select all

C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/Moonchild Productions/Basilisk
a.k.a. Ascrod
Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon (64-bit), Debian Bullseye (64-bit), Windows 7 (64-bit)

Thank you! (:

Now I will be copying some files from Firefox to Basilisk folder, so I do not have a too cold start.

I simply copied my entire profile folder from Firefox to the Basilisk directory, renamed it accordingly and voilá: EVERYTHING is the same as in Firefox. Bookmarks, settings, history, passwords, form content, add-ons, extensions. The migration didn't take five minutes. I am totally excited about Basilisk and it is my future default browser! Thank you very much for that!!!

What version of Firefox were you using?
That's really good to know that the migration can be that direct.

Thank you! I'm just falling in love with that Basilisk browser. Didn't notice any problems so far. Though I am working very intensively with the browser. I usually have about 30 tabs open and installed 15 plugins and 25 extensions. Everything is going great!
