Hi everyone,
This is my first post on this forum!
I've migrated from Firefox to Basilisk in order to have a sane and secure web browser.
Did you guys knew about the latest Cliqz experiment in Firefox ?
https://www.thenakedscientists.com/foru ... ic=71883.0
Looks like Mozilla decided to include proprietary software into Firefox...
It would be cool if Basilisk remove all the cliqz code in about:config.
The most obvious one is social.whitelist. There might be more values I haven't found yet.
Anyways, I would like to thank you for providing this fork of Firefox.
Looking forward to continue using it!
Cheers,
tk

Holy cow! It's present in Pale Moon as well.tkadm30 wrote:social.whitelist
"dom.ipc.cpows.allow-cpows-in-compat-addons" also contains cliqz, but I honestly don't know what this setting does.

Re: Cliqz
It's possible that the code using these settings has been "neutralized" so that it no longer runs, but has not been entirely removed from the codebase yet. Even in that case, the setting may be left in place on purpose for some weird compatibility reasons.
Still, it probably wouldn't hurt to change those settings to empty strings.
Also, welcome to the forum tkadm30!

Re: Cliqz
We don't use any of the experiments or embedded add-ons that Firefox has absorbed. Of course there will still be some whitelist entries and the likes that are polluted with what came bundled, but since the actual stuff isn't there, it's harmless. It'll be part of code cleanup to do over time.
