On Pale Moon, if we doubleclick a word, only this word would be highlighted.
But, on Basilisk, if we doubleclick a word, the space following that word would be highlighted, too - identical highlighting behavior in Firefox.
On Pale Moon, if we doubleclick the space, both words surrounding that space would be highlighted.
But, on Basilisk, if we doubleclick the space, only the word on the left + the space itself would be highlighted.

First, selection behavior has nothing to do with the layout and rendering engine. It is an application choice.
Second, Basilisk is not Pale Moon. Behavior will be different. Please stop comparing the two as-if Basilisk would have to be the same as Pale Moon. They aren't and won't be.
