Will Basilisk support WebRTC?
The Basilisk site can currently be quoted as saying that it supports "a wide array of features required for the Modern Web" and I'd say that WebRTC is a pretty modern feature for the Modern Web.

Re: Will Basilisk support WebRTC?
Since WebRTC is part of the UXP platform and Basilisk, as an application, will remain close to Firefox, it will be built with WebRTC to exercise the WebRTC code, even if it's not in wide use (and calling it "required for the modern web" is a terrible overstatement).
As an aside "a wide array" doesn't mean "everything thinkable/available".

Re: Will Basilisk support WebRTC?
I don't understand for what we need for webRTC implementation? From definition webRTC is "an open source project that seeks to embed real-time voice, text and video communications capabilities in Web browsers". But we can do that for years by YMessenger or Skype..etc..

Re: Will Basilisk support WebRTC?
You don't "need" it, unless you want to do that kind of "real-time media chat" in the browser. Keep in mind Basilisk is not Pale Moon. The UXP platform is not going to solely cater to Pale Moon in the future either, so as a platform, it'll be more than what the general Pale Moon community would need -- that doesn't mean an unrelated application and its users adhere to the same wishes and needs as Pale Moon users.badnick wrote:I don't understand for what we need for webRTC implementation?

Well , maybe I'm nontechnical person in this domain, but we can do that right now in the browser. Live stream /chat on Facebook, Twitter..or other pages like this, that's not the same thing?

Just because it's built doesn't mean you have to allow peer connections. Just switch it off if you are concerned about the "security of your local IP" that doesn't matter anyway for normal use of a web browser.

See any of the many articles about Firefox if you want to disable it.dark_moon wrote:Option to disable it, sounds good

Re: Will Basilisk support WebRTC?
At least with this first build, it would appear that (at least the Linux version of) Basilisk does not support WebRTC. I'd be willing to over look the Australis if it did, but if Basilisk is going to keep this same "feature" from Pale Moon then I'm not interested and will just keep up using Chromium for Discord (the Linux Discord "application" is trite) and Pale Moon for every other site.

Re: Will Basilisk support WebRTC?
I just double checked and WebRTC was not disabled at build time on Linux. Can you provide some specific details on what is not working?
