When I want to watch a video, I usually just throw the URL over to MPV and let yt-dlp do the work. No ads, although no sponsorblock either.

I'm not sure if that's the official SponsorBlock one. I tried it (on just one video) and it didn't work.
Not official. The one you linked to is better
Speaking of Floorp, they autobricked themselves with their August 2024 "update" incompatible with Windows 8 and MacOS Mojave (and earlier) systems, which they formerly ran upon. Their updater breezily downloaded the "update" on those OSes and applied it without checking compatibility first. --*sigh* Isn't this, like, Programming 101 when writing updates, let alone auto-updates?andyprough wrote: ↑2024-08-18, 23:09Floorp and Waterfox are 100% dependent on dead-dog-blowing Mozilla, which is 99.9% dependent on Google.
Absolutely.
It should run on everything from Lion to the current release on both x86_64 and Apple Silicon/ARM64. I haven't verified this though, the only Apple hardware I own is my current laptop which is an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro and some old PowerPC iBooks/PowerBooks.Honeyko wrote: ↑2024-08-25, 17:50Anyway, thanks to everyone at Basilisk for keeping this browser compatible with inter-era MacOS (I know it works in El Capitan, haven't checker for earlier, though it would be nice if it ran in Lion too, as that's the latest OS supported by the white-polycarbonate core-2 iMac line.)
Either someone keeps updating ublock origin to add new features when needed, or someone makes a legacy fork of AdNauseum for basilisk-browser and other uxp web browsers. I know Moonchild isn't fond of that one, but honestly, I would like a decent adblocker that is continually worked on one way or the other.
Not sure if "making a legacy fork" is possible, as described. This probably involves a platform conversion i.e. a (complete?) rewrite. Certainly not a fork... right?
What kind of food features would you like with your ad blocking this evening, monsieur? Fancy a plate of tender escargot, sauteed in a light, buttery truffle sauce?
Seems I wrote this wrong... I meant good features.andyprough wrote: ↑2024-09-03, 13:43Off-topic:What kind of food features would you like with your ad blocking this evening, monsieur? Fancy a plate of tender escargot, sauteed in a light, buttery truffle sauce?
They actually have an old version of the fork that existed in 2018 or so... if I remember correctly.back2themoon wrote: ↑2024-09-03, 11:41Not sure if "making a legacy fork" is possible, as described.
