Install button disappears on 'Get Flash' Page on Tycho
I'm not sure if this is a Tycho issue or not. On both my wife's computer and my son's computer, both with Tycho and Windows 8.1, on Adobe's "get flash" page, the yellow "Install Now" button appears for a split second, then disappears. I was able to install the latest flash on my wife's computer via Firefox which does not have this issue. But there's no way to install it on my son's computer as his doesn't have FF installed.

It disappears temporarily while it loads the "additional special offers" in the center pane, then the button is restored. I'm sure that's by design on Adobe's site to not offer installation if people block these installer ads.

I've totally disabled NoScript and add blocker. The install button still disappears, and doesn't come back.

Have you also cleared your cache after doing that?

So is there anything else that I could do? Something is definitely wrong, it's happening on two different computers.

Re: Install button disappears on 'Get Flash' Page on Tycho
Just occurred to me to try using Compatibility mode. The problem goes away by using either Firefox mode or Gecko mode.
[I would like to mark this thread as solved, but to me this is more of a work-around than actually solving the problem.]

I think you are confused.. Compatibility Mode (as it was as a single checkbox) (as in non-native UA) is Compatibility Mode in tycho if either Gecko or FIrefox UA is selected. When set to native it uses a purely and proper Pale Moon user agent that would be the same as unchecking the tick box in v26.

No, I'm not confused (maybe I worded my post wrong?). On both of these computers Pale Moon was set at "Native," which resulted in the mentioned problem. But when changed to either Firefox or Gecko, the problem goes away and Flash is able to be downloaded via the yellow download button.
Re: Install button disappears on 'Get Flash' Page on Tycho
So what you are saying is Adobe needs a Site Specific User Agent Override. k

Well, we do have "Gecko compatibility" be the default for a reason -- we've seen not having a Gecko/xxx slice breaks a number of websites.
Also, Tobin, you're mistaken: "Native" would be alike having the checkbox unticked AND having set "general.useragent.compatMode.gecko" to "false" (not the default) in v26.

So in Tycho having it set to "Gecko" mode is equal to the way things are set in version 26? I didn't know that.Moonchild wrote:

v27 "Firefox Compatibility" mode: Like v26 with Firefox Compatibility mode checked
v27 "Gecko compatibility" mode: Like v26 with Firefox Compatibility mode unchecked
v27 "Native" mode: Like v26 with Firefox Compatibility mode unchecked and general.useragent.compatMode.gecko set to false

Re: Install button disappears on 'Get Flash' Page on Tycho
Set these 2 computers with Tycho back to the default "Gecko mode." Will mark now as solved.
