Known issues in Beta1

Unread post by Moonchild » 2016-10-04, 08:37

We've moved on the beta stage, meaning the browser should be safe for daily use at this point. (Binaries will be released soon).
Devtools have been enabled/built in this beta, but there are a few known bugs with it.

This topic is to collect known issues in this beta, to prevent double reports. If you find something new, always check here first.
  • Some devtools menu entries (and shortcuts) are missing. You can use F12 to bring up the devtools toolbox and select the tool you need, but direct access shortcuts aren't available at the moment.
  • The devtools debugger is broken.
  • The devtools network panel is broken.
  • Using non-default themes may cause issues - themes will have to be updated to reflect some changes.
  • When opening a large number of tabs, the scroll arrows are missing (scrolling can still be done by clicking the narrow areas either side of the tabs) Issue #549
  • Subscribing to RSS feeds isn't possible Issue #554
  • The (non-default) internal PDF viewer is broken. Issue #560
Additional things to note:
  • Do not use language packs! They are not compatible. You can only use the browser in English.
  • Jetpack/add-on SDK extensions are not supported. the Add-on manager will now inform you if your extension is of this type.
  • You may have to restart the browser after your initial update to have everything work properly due to some migration quirks.
Before reporting issues, always try first: clear cache, clear cookies, restart the browser. Check also if a new profile exhibits the same problem.
