v27.0.0a1 64-bit seems to be 32-bit? Topic is solved
v27.0.0a1 64-bit seems to be 32-bit?
I just downloaded the 64 bit installer (from the EU mirror) and despite the file name of the installer looking correct, it seems to have installed the 32 bit version (the installation process selected the Program Files (x86) path and the 'about' information shows x86 also).
Re: v27.0.0a1 64-bit seems to be 32-bit?
hmm.. the file size should be 33,534,702 bytes for the installer, which is significantly larger than the 32-bit version (so I'm quite confident you're dealing with the x64 version when using that installer).
Please check in your task manager if the process is indeed 32-bit or not (it shouldn't be). Since both the installer location and about box are front-end, it's possible that something got renamed (one of the many things) in the code base by Mozilla that causes it to act like the x86 version while it in fact is not.
EDIT: Yup, a define got renamed to HAVE_64BIT_BUILD -- this will cause the check for 64-bit to fail in the about box and installer which will make it default to 32-bit install locations and showing "x86" in the about box. It's mostly just cosmetic so shouldn't influence operation.

Looks like the process is indeed 64 bit according to Process Explorer.
