Save Recovery Key and more

Post by Cogito Ergo Sum » 2016-02-25, 23:59

Why is there a link to https://services.mozilla.com/ in my saved recovery html, rather then a link to https://www.palemoon.org/sync/ ?
Is there a link where i can go, log into my sync account and see what i have there?
Where can i set when my browser syncs?

Because we haven't yet found and corrected all hard-coded links to Mozilla web properties and Firefox names yet?

Nope. For the simple reason that we don't send any data to the sync server in a way that can be presented in a useful way (decrypted). Only your client (your browser) has all the keys to decrypt your synced data. That's for your data safety -- all we store are account-linked encrypted blobs.

You can set some of the intervals in your preferences under services.sync.scheduler.* prefs, but please do not change these intervals to anything shorter than the defaults when you use the Pale Moon Sync service as it would cause unfair use of the service. Making these intervals less frequent is of course always OK.
You can also add a sync icon to your toolbar or status bar (via customize...) that you can click to sync immediately.

Are these intervals in seconds, milliseconds or something else?

What is the single device interval for?

If i copied my regular profile to the portable version, are they considered one device?

Seconds

The sync interval to use when you actually don't have more than one linked device.

Good question -- I think they might because you'd also have the same UID in both profiles. You may want to unlink the portable and re-link it to generate new unique IDs for it.
