"Firefox (!) Sync Setup"

Unread post by Martinbr » 2016-02-09, 22:29

Hello!

When I choose "Sync setup ..." [sorry I don't know the exact English term as I use the German language pack] in PM 26.0.3, a "Firefox Sync Setup" window appears, and the sync server offered in it is the "Mozilla Firefox Sync Server".

What's the reason? Has PM's own sync service been discontinued?

TIA for your answer!
Martin

The menu item I was referring to is "Set-Up Sync ..." in English.

I've attached two screenshots. The first one is of the window that appears after the menu item is chosen. The second one shows the screen for creating a new Sync account.

Is it a normal thing to see the references to Firefox in the windows, or is there a problem with my installation?

TIA for your answers!
Martin

This is likely a language pack error.

EDIT: Yup. I've made some corrections.

Thanks for your quick help!

I've just found the "Zing! Locale Switcher" add-on and switched to the en-US locale to check. Now, "Pale Moon Sync" and the Pale Moon server are referred to.

The author of the German language pack should be notified of that. I'll post a message in the Localization subforum.

I think the Dutch language pack needs to be corrected as well.

indeed. I've taken care of that (and a few minor corrections while I was in there).

Directly in Github, or by downloading files and sending me updated ones. But no worries, I've already fixed it.
