Selected text reader

Unread post by Internauta1024A » 2015-08-18, 07:30

I send to test extension Selected text reader.
With this extension you can read selected texts in special reader(similar to prompter).
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Works here with Goanna on Linux x64!

One suggestion: Enable the mouse scroll-wheel to move to the next "page" of text if there's more words than will show on the screen (I personally wasn't a fan of the "Change text every: x ms" feature).

EDIT: Full screen mode is off-center and doesn't display all text, and causes my OS taskbar to disappear as well:

Thank you for testing.
You can scroll text manually with cursors:
Keyboard shortcuts:
-Key F – toggle full screen and window mode
-Right arrow, Up arrow - rewind to the text end in the pause mode
-Left arrow, Down arrow - rewind to the text beginning in the pause mode
-PageUp – fast rewind to the text beginning in the pause mode
-PageDown – fast rewind to the text end in the pause mode
-keys 1,2,3,4,5 (including the numeric keypad) - remember text position
-keys F1,F2,F3,F4,F5 – reading text position (working correspondingly with 1,2,3,4,5 keys)
-Esc – close reader
Other keys and mouse buttons – pause/resume scrolling text

Thanks for the list. I'd figured out some of those already, I'll try the ones I hadn't yet. :)

Try version 0.1.2 :
If this version also not working correctly-try find conflict with other extensions.

I just tried 0.1.2 in a new profile with no other extensions and I get the same result in full screen mode as before.

Still no good. I also tried changing this preference in a new profile and I still have the same problem.

The first time I tried v0.1.3 full screen, it was centered correctly but didn't fill the entire screen (it stopped about where the Pale Moon title bar was). I've tried again several times (with both a clean and "dirty" profile) but I keep getting the same result as the previous versions.

Full screen now works, however the browser remains in full screen mode even after closing the full screen text reader window (requiring that I manually exit full screen mode for the browser).

V0.2.0 works great! I'm definitely a fan being able to scroll text using the mouse wheel! It seems to be a tad bit snappier as well. Great work!
