Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
It looks like Adobe's download page for Flash player (https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) is sniffing for both "Firefox" and "Gecko." I tried FF compatibility mode and a variety of user agents, and the only way I could download any of the installers is with a UA string that included both "Firefox" and "Gecko" in it.

Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
I was on that page earlier this morning for the newest IE and Pale Moon flash versions (18.0.0.232) for use in Windows 7.
I downloaded and installed Flash for Active X in the Internet Explorer browser and I had no problems downloading and installing Flash for NPAPI for Pale Moon. And I do not have Firefox Compat mode enabled (turned on) for Pale Moon. Also, my User Agent Overrider addon/extension was disabled (not turned on) too.
Adobe sees my Pale Moon user agent in Windows 7 as:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.6) Gecko/20150723 PaleMoon/25.6.0

Yes, my comment above is specifically regarding the 26.0.0b1 beta. You are using 25.6.0.Night Wing wrote:Adobe sees my Pale Moon user agent in Windows 7 as:

The Gecko slice issue will be solved in the next beta, because it's too widespread of a problem.

Well Netflix too does not recognize the new Pale Moon, so as discussed before setting UAS to: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.9 PaleMoon/25 does work. Netflix has also resolved it's past issue with not showing the thumbnails after row three, so there should be no problem with this one MC.
And @Nigaikaze I have no issue installing Flash ESR v18.0.0.232 using the new Pale Moon (Goanna).

Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
Question: Will downloading this beta upgrade my old version of PM, or will this install as a separate browser?
I don't know whether to try this out or not...

It will install as a normal version of Pale Moon, i.e.: will install over your existing one and use your existing profile. If you're not sure, then don't!

To try without installing, For Windows :-
Download the ZIP version of the one you want to try.
Unzip it (obviously!).
Make sure there are no instances of your usual Pale Moon running then double click on the red icon.
The beta version will run but uses your existing profile.
Any changes you make will be reflected in your normal Pale Moon.
Note: you can't have both running at the same time!

You could also slot it into a portable version..

Logged into my sacrificial Gmail account earlier using the beta Pale Moon and got an email from Google that made me smile

Other than that it all seems to be working as normal but a bit faster to render pages and load Adblock Latitude at startup.

@Matt A Tobin: How would I slot it into a portable version? Can I just save (download) the zip into my USB, open the file and proceed with extraction? But what if I already extracted it to my desktop, can I then move it to my USB stick?

Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
You can copy the extracted files to the bin folder in Pale Moon Portable (remove the old files first) retaining the same structure (the actual files being in bin\palemoon\).
Then start palemoon-portable as usual.
I'll provide a portable/self-contained test version with the next beta, but testing it in an installed setup is also important

This site doesn't like the new version, compatibility mode doesn't work either.

Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
The gfx.direct2d.disabled (true) doesn't seem to work, I'm still getting the annoying blurriness/high contrast.
Also, I think there's a clash with the NoSquint extension, the / and F3 keys have some zoom-related effect.

Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
there are no differences between the current release version and the Goanna beta 1 in terms of the direct2d preference. There should be absolutely no difference, unless some other software dealing with DirectX treats the browser differently.

Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
I can only think of the AMD drivers. Unchecking "Use hardware acceleration when available" doesn't have an effect on that issue, either (it does on v25 and earlier).Moonchild wrote:there are no differences between the current release version and the Goanna beta 1 in terms of the direct2d preference. Going to Meteoradar http://www.meteoradar.co.uk/home/maps?bg=0&lat=52.75 the small box at top left displays "your browser does not support charts".

Should show a 3hr local forecast.

Works fine in 25.6 (using same profile for both).
Using Win 7 32bit

Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
The Nvidia Driver site (http://www.geforce.com/drivers) seems to think Pale Moon 26 is an "outdated browser", so useragent sniffing, I guess. Firefox compatibility mode does not help.

I hope this gets fixed (if it can) in v26 because this is the page where I update both of my two tower computers graphics drivers for their respective Nvidia graphics cards.DarthVitrial wrote:The Nvidia Driver site (http://www.geforce.com/drivers) seems to think Pale Moon 26 is an "outdated browser", so useragent sniffing, I guess. Re: Pale Moon 26 (Goanna) beta1 feedback thread
Ugh. This site looks like it's specifically sniffing the "rv:" slice of the UA string. I've played around with adding "Firefox" and "Gecko" to it, but the only way I could get the "outdated browser" pop-up to go away was to up the value associated with the "rv:" piece.DarthVitrial wrote:The Nvidia Driver site (http://www.geforce.com/drivers) seems to think Pale Moon 26 is an "outdated browser", so useragent sniffing, I guess.
