Hello again!
Moonchild, would it be possible to make Pale Moon compatible to this addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search
It is very helpful to add search providers to the bar which do not offer it.
Maybe there is a way to manipulate Pale Moon to give the addon/addon site on mozilla.org a signal that the current browser is an older Firefox which is compatible to the addon.
Some people in the comments even think the addon should be integrated in Firefox.
Have a nice weekend!

Re: addon 'Add to search bar'
ah now I see, I was first think that, hey it is compatible!
but the latest version is for firefox 25 and later,
even though it shows up as 2.2 on the addon page the install button gives you the older 2.0 version. confusing.
You can ask the author to drop the min version to 24, if the addon supports it. Or you can your self force to install it, with downloading it and modifying the minversion in the install.rdf file, or try to disable the extension compatibility check in about:config for all add-ons. Is there any better and easier way to do this for just one add-on?

Re: addon 'Add to search bar'
Just go to "all versions" and install the latest version that is compatible with the 24.* browsers
I still think this is a serious shortcoming of AMO, it should offer older versions (with a warning or something that it's an older version) automatically to older browsers, instead of just saying "this extension is not available". Maybe someone who knows the AMO team can poke them about that? It also affects their ESR users, after all, to name something, and that is their own product.

Re: addon 'Add to search bar'
Lightbeam add-on is an example of this. The add-on is now version 1.0.9, but it says it doesn't work on 24.X & will not let you download it on PM. However, version 1.0.8 downloads & works just fine on PM. I'm not sure if there is any problem with using an older version of the add-on or not.
Re: addon 'Add to search bar'
95% of the time (if not more) the newer versions of an add-on don't add anything spectacular, and are just updated to make them compatible with the "latest version of Firefox". I wouldn't worry too much about running older versions of add-ons. Unlike the actual browser program, add-ons are almost never (if ever) vulnerable to "exploits" or similar, so not having the very latest version is not a risk.

Re: addon 'Add to search bar'
Thank you, Moonchild for the information about using older versions of add-ons.
