Suggestion of providing information on x86-64 SSE2/AVX2

Unread post by Squirrel42 » 2025-02-21, 13:24

How is it?

Pale Moon, "Check for Updates": "There are no updates available."
Pale Moon installer: "Computer says no."

What might be better?
Informing the user:
- Why does it fail? Pale Moon x86-64 now requires SSE2/AVX2, their computer does not offer that.
- What to do? Use the recent 32 bit version instead or have a look at Nuck-TH's builds or create a build themselves or get new hardware or whatsoever.

There is no official 32 bit version anymore. Use the SSE2 builds from the FTP (they have the internal updater enabled) or compile yourself.
