how much, if any, impact on performance does the profile have? mine's a pretty old one that i copied from a previous windows install and i think might have even been migrated from firefox before that in 2014 or so.
would i see any increase in performance if i made a fresh new profile?

Yes. And profile performance depends on how many extensions you have installed, as well as changes to preferences (some of them can be detrimental to performance if you don't know what you're doing). There have been some geniuses for example who messed with the disk cache setting to 'save disk space' and then are surprised that pages take ages to load.

currently at 10, but i might be able to do without one or two more and there are probably newer alternatives for one or two. might be a good idea to consider it since i just learned about:profiles makes it easy to test this.And profile performance depends on how many extensions you have installed
