From the article:
and redirect some content requests through privacy servers instead of sending them directly to websites
And of course, Google won't store or analyze the information that passes through their so called "privacy servers" would they?

Laptop 2: Windows 10 32-bit, Atom Z3735F @ 1.33GHz, 2GB, Intel HD Graphics.

There is only one answer and we both know it.

To be fair, Google already gets all of its users browser history and even gets every word they type into the URL bar as they type it if they leave Chrome in its default settings. All part of their "Safe Browsing" and "Search Autocomplete" technologies. So if someone is already using Chrome then this might not give Google very much more of their personal info to sell than it already has.

I'm assuming the reason that Google is doing this is they don't want the other companies' websites to be picking up their users' IP addresses - they want those companies to have to come to Google and pay for access to their users IP addresses.

Actually, you may be right.

Right now we can both only guess because we don't have any details, but outside of legitimate VPNs, I think it is judicious to be wary of any company who offers to route actual page data (not just the urls) through their servers for "free".

Can't wait until Google's servers get blocked by Cloudflare and half the internet "goes down".

Do you think that with the power of Google there is a possibility of such a block?

Cloudflare blocks by IP address all the time, and any "permanently whitelisted" IPs would be a glaring hole in their DoS security. It's basically an inevitability.

I know that it's blocking, but I thought that if Google poured money into Cloudflare, they would get away with it.
